Bad Bunny is the latest artist to be featured in YouTube Music's “Artist Spotlight Stories" series. In a 10-minute documentary that premiered today, the Puerto Rican singer talked about his road to success, his beloved native Isla del Encanto, his mental power abilities, and more.
“Not everyone has the strength,” he said about fame, also mentioning that his dream has always been for his music to be known. “That people enjoy my creations and my mind and my ideas.”
During the short film, Bunny also opened up about his performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, where he wore a long skirt and a large pink jacket, which he stripped away to reveal a white shirt that read "Mataron a Alexa, no a un hombre con falda," which translates to "They killed Alexa, not a man in a skirt." His outfit was in tribute to Alexa Negrón Luciano, a homeless transgender woman who was murdered in Puerto Rico.
“The decision was made hours before the presentation,” he said. “My stylist had all the options and I saw a suit-like dress with a black rose and it hit me. It reflected what happened in Puerto Rico that week and it made me sentimental. I saw it and thought of Alexa.”
Bad Bunny expresses his perception of what it takes to make dreams come true. "We have to dream, daydreaming." We have to work for what we love and do everything from our hearts. With hard work and dedication, there's nothing that can stop anyone from achieving their dreams and goals.
"I used to work in a supermarket and now I'm living my dream"

Limit, is not a word that is in Bad Bunny's vocabulary, he has broken through stigmas and has done things that have never been done before not only in the music industry but also coming from a genre that is categorized as macho for years. All of this is changing and more artist are coming together to bring a positive message and one in where women have equal power as men. With Bad we never know what's next that is one of the things that we like about him. We are excited about what he has in store for us, this is just the beginning of a beautiful and successful career.
